Whoo! Happy MLK day. I’m so psyched to have an awesome piece of music to share today on this long weekend. Hyundai has been working on a project called RE:GENERATION, which is basically a film about famous DJ’s getting together with unusual musical counterparts/legends and making something new and exciting and unique. So, what kind of thing might be in store? Well, how about Mark Ronson working with Erykah Badu and Mos Def on some serious New Orleans jazz? Yep. That’s what we’re talking about.
The video below was released as sort of a preview of what to expect from the film, which will be screening in select theaters on February 16th and 23rd (for information on where the film is happening near you, head to the the RE:GENERATION website). Shot in New Orleans, it’s a gorgeous cutting of these artists making some seriously enjoyable jazz with just the tiniest bit of modern flair. Check it out below:
