Hanni El Khatib and grim reaper in training “Come Alive” in latest music video

I was already super excited about Hanni El Khatib‘s upcoming album Will The Guns Come Out, but then his new video for “Come Alive” dropped today, and I about exploded with anticipation (graphic, I know, but I really am stoked). “Come Alive” is awesome, with a great big thwumping guitar beat that grips your feet from the start and never lets go. Hanni’s keeping his sound very garage rockish, with simple drums and truck stop blues vocals. And he’s getting some cred, as this song recently was featured on The Vampire Diaries‘ (aka the most ridiculous show with the hottest cast ever) most recent promo, aptly titled “Got Wood”. Shot in a nice black and white, the music video features a adorable young grim reaper and Khatib as they set off on a rampage, hurling babies down hills and knocking over Tony the Tiger wannabes. At a certain point the little reaper earns her wings, gets a real scythe and starts off on an actual killing spree, and by the end of the video after a quality high five with Khatib, looks like she may be turning her wrath on him.. fun to speculate.
